CLASS
OF 1959 50th REUNION
SATURDAY
- VFW Oct. 3, 2009![]()
It looks as though the Class of 1959 had a great 50th Reunion, since I have queried a few classmates. “Dianne Pritchard, Pat MacDowell, Jeanne Mizelle, Hannah Dawson, Alma Squires and a handful of others were the "committee" and deserve a big heap of praise” was one quote I received. “There were so many nice touches, such as our keepsake dinner placemats printed with our class photo from '59.”
It was termed as a ‘WONDERFUL gathering, on Saturday, Oct. 3rd. There was a luncheon; teachers and special guests were included. The program included a ‘Memorial ceremony for Coach Brooks, Mr. Callaway, deceased Classmates, deceased parents, spouses and children of Classmates.
Following lunch they visited the ‘Parish House’ where classmates were greeted at the top of the stairs by “Miss Hattie’s Ghost”; all dressed in black, white collar, black tie shoues and a 12 inch ruler in hand! They say it looked just like her!!!
Then Miss Hattie entertained them with her rules…..told them about the ‘Manner’ she expected, etc………they say it was a fun time!
Saturday night was dinner, with entertainment provided by ‘ELVIS’! Also a 1959 Recap program by classmates. Their whole day was at the VFW building, which many said it was great to have all events at one place, because it made the decorating, ect. Easier.
They are already thinking about another more low-key event a year from now. Now enjoy the pictures thanks to Dianne Pritchard-MacDowell.
